Summer Ensemble Program
The inaugural class of the Summer Ensemble Program was made possible from a grant FYSO received from the Alameda County Board of Supervisors for the 2016-2017 Season with a Finale Performance in September, 2017. Applications are now being accepted for the 2019 Summer Ensemble Program.
The FYSO Summer Ensemble Program is a fun, interactive, and progressive approach that helps student musicians to improve performance skills in an ensemble setting.
Students will participate in one of the Instrumental Ensembles (String Ensembles, Wind Ensemble, or Chamber Music Ensemble) where they gain a better understanding and appreciation of different music genres and periods relating to world history.
Afternoon music theory classes and instrumental workshops are designed to help students learn the correct posture, tone projection techniques, and basic musicianship with emphasis on intonation, scales, efficient and effective practice methods, audition preparation and more.
Classes are conducted by Directors of the Fremont Youth Symphony Orchestra and professional musician from the Fremont Symphony.
