Summer Ensemble Program
The inaugural class of the Summer Ensemble Program was made possible from a grant FYSO received from the Alameda County Board of Supervisors for the 2016-2017 Season with a Finale Performance in September, 2017. Applications are now accepting for the 2018 Summer Ensemble Program.
The FYSO Summer Ensemble Program is a fun, interactive, and progressive approach to help students with the applications of efficient and effective practice methods. Students with comparable skill levels are assigned to various groups of duets, trios & quartets, playing challenging pieces of different music genres.
Program: Each ensemble group will meet separately for four 1.5 hours rehearsals on Mondays between 4:00pm to 7:00pm throughout Summer. To accommodate various summer vacation schedules, rehearsal dates and venue will be determined to the mutual convenience of participants and the Directors. A Finale Performance will be presented at the end of the program on August 26, 2018.
Location: First United Methodist Church, Cole Hall 2950 Washington Blvd. Fremont 94539
Program Fee: $225 (Registration/audition fee $25 + Tuition $200)
Placement audition requirement: One major scale of your own choice and one prepared solo piece ( no more than 5 minutes in length) showing your abilities and musicianship.
2018 FYSO Summer Ensemble Program application is now CLOSED.
